Going from one destination to another can often be a waste of a day, a necessary evil.
Our day started early, left the Istanbul apartment at 7:30 am, on the advice of our host ( it was probably 1 hour and half too early!). We arrived in Bucharest about midday and it took about 10 minutes to get through passport control and collect our bags.
From there we caught a minibus to Brasov, about 3 hours. Passing through the central snowfields.
Our apartment is right in the heart of the old town, about 100m from the town hall, and is huge with 15 foot ceilings.
At 6 o'clock we went on a free Walkabout tour of the old town, which was a great introduction to the old town. We started in the Town Hall Square and saw the Black church, Strada Strofii ( the smallest street in Romania and 3rd in Europe!), Black Church
Council Square, Rope Street
St. Nicholas Church, The Citadel’s Walls, Schei Quarter, Ecaterina’s Gate and the white and black towers. Would recommend this tour to all.
After the tour we had a drink in the streets ( it was very cool).
Did a little shopping and returned to our apartment for a light supper.
Not too bad for a transfer day.
Cheers A & K.
