Probably the best way to describe Santorini.
After arriving at midnight and not getting to sleep until 1:30 am, Andy still managed to wake at 6:00 am to listening to the Pies beat the underachievers, Carlton. When the footy finished Andy went for a short walk and bought supplies for breakfast and some drinks for later.
We decided to walk(~3km up and down hills and lots of steps) to Fira along the coast top footpath. There 100s of accommodation places dotted along the cliff and a few churches. There are so many spots to take photos of the visa of the caldera or along the coast, it is a photographer's dream. The Caldera is a place where the land collapses due to the hole left by the expelled magna of a volcano. So hopefully you can see the ring (broken) of the land in the pics.

After a stop in Fira to collect ferry tIckets and for refreshment we did the return walk to where we are staying in Imerovigli. This way it is a lot more uphill and about 5C hotter. By the time we returned the pool had our name written all over it! We spent the next few hours mainly in the pool chatting to a couple from Sydney.
Next we sat on our balcony and watched the sunset. The view from Santorini is supposed to be one of the best going around and Our location is referred to as the "Balcony of the Aegean",
For dinner we went to a restaurant called Blue Note, which had great views in both directions along the coast. The food was good. Nearby there was a wedding at one of the clifftop accommodations and as a part of their celebration a short but spectacular (I hope the marriage is only spectacular) fireworks display was enjoyed.
Cheers,
A & K.
