Our first "sight" was Frederickskirke, the Marble Church, a lovely domed roof church. Apparently it was supposed to be built totally of Norwegian marble inside and out, but they realised the cost would be prohibitive,so a lot of limestone was used instead.
A few doors down was a Russian Othodox church, unfortunately it was closed.
Nearby is the Amalienborg Palace, which is actually 4 buildings surrounding a central square and of course a statue of a king (one of the Fredericks I think). This is where our "Mary" lives, but she must have been out, because she didn't invite us in for a cuppa. Kristin got a bit close to one of guards and was told off and pushed away.
Next we walked to the King's Garden and Rosenberg Palace. The palace also was the location of the Royal Treasury, which contains the Danish Crown Jewels.
From there we went to the National Art Gallery but it is closed on Mondays (will do it on Tuesday).
So we caught a bus across town to the Carlsberg Brewery Museum. A highlight! They no longer brew here but 2 free beers each was included in the admission (which was included in the CPH card - getting good value from it!)
Nearby was a couple parks, the zoo and another palace.

After a break back at the hotel we headed to the Tivoli Gardens. My best description is, it is like Luna Park on speed. Plenty of rides and restaurants, worth a look but more suited to 14 year olds.
Then we walked several kilometres around the city malls (there are 3 quite long malls). We ate light (kebab and falafel ) before heading back to the hotel.
