The last few hours in Phuket.
Happy or sad to be going home?
From the start I must say we are very fortunate to do what we have done. When you talk to people from other countries, you appreciate how lucky we are in Australia. A perfect example is Long Service Leave, which we couldn't have ever dreamed to do a trip like this without it.
We would like to thank those who have kept in touch during our travels via the blog, Facebook, Viber, sms, etc.
We have seen some woderful sights (still can't get the image of those goats in a tree out of my head) and met some wonderful people as well.
Anyhow to finish off here are some statistics:
- 20 countries (if you include Australia)
- 106 days (105 nights)
- 25 flights (longest leg Melbourne - Singapore - Dubai - Istanbul)
- 3 long bus trips
- 8 long train trips (1 overnight)
- 14 ferry trips (2 overnight)
- 35 transfers (most public transport or local taxi)
- 37 different accommodations (longest stay 6 nights in Rhodes, 5 Istanbul and 5 in Phuket)
- 20 different day tours (best were the boat trips)
- 2 suntans - fading already, after 12 hours home)
- No lost property
- 1 waterlogged smartphone 😡
- 1 replacement suitcase (although Andy's is going to the tip)
- 86 blogs (nearly one a day)
- 100s of Facebook statuses
- Approximately 20000 photos between the pair of us (probably only half are selfies☺)
- Cost.....
- Priceless!
Cheers,
A & K
