We caught the "loop" tourist bus (#434) and went up to the Moorish Castle. The roads to top of the hill is on very narrow winding streets. On one corner the bus needed to do a three point turn to get around.
The castle gives you panoramic views of the whole area.
We walked around to the Pena Palace, a pastel coloured sprawling building also sitting atop another hill, but at €14 each to go in we passed and caught the bus back down to the National Palace. Here we looked around the shops, had lunch and took more photos.
From there we walked down the hill to catch the train back to Lisbon.
The late afternoon was spent doing a bit of shopping and a couple of drinks in the apartment.
For dinner we cruised the Barro Alto area and had some tapas at a place called Tapas 52. The food was ok. A short break on the walk back to apartment at the Largo de Camoes square, to have a drink of something that tasted like muscat and a port.
Cheers
